Review...Pucked by: Helena Hunting

Synopsis:

With a famous NHL player for a step-brother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation many hockey stars come with. She’s smart enough to steer clear of those hot, well-built boys with unparalleled stamina. That is until she meets the legendary team captain—Alex Waters.

Violet isn’t interested in his pretty, beat-up face, or his rock-hard six-pack abs. But when Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s previous misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes more than just a hot body with a face to match.

In what can only be considered a complete lapse in judgment, Violet finds out just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants. But what starts out as a one-night stand, quickly turns into something more. Post-night of orgasmic magic, Alex starts to call, and text, and e-mail and send extravagant—and quirky—gifts, making him difficult to ignore, and even more difficult not to like.

The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game.

My Review: (Copy provided)
4-4.5 stars!

This book is laugh out loud funny! I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn't put it down. I've had this one for a few months and I needed a laugh. I heard it was hilarious and a lot of my reader friends have recommended it. I decided now was the time to read it and I'm so glad I did.

I loved the quirkiness of both the hero and heroine.I found myself embarrassed at times for the both of them.

Violet's (h) stepbrother is a pro hockey player and has just signed on to play for the Chicago Black Hawks, she's already dated a  hockey player and she knows their whorish ways, especially because her brother is one. Violet is all to familiar with the "puck bunnies" and "hockey whores." The last thing she expects is to get involved with a hockey player let alone the captain of her brothers team.

Alex (H) is always the center of the gossip columns, the paparazzi love him and he has a bad reputation for getting it on with one, two or several puck bunnies. You can't always believe what you read and see. It's going to take some convincing but he's determined to win Violet over.

I love a good romantic comedy and this was one of the best I've read in a while. When I first started reading I thought it might be a stepbrother romance, well boy was I wrong. And speaking of her stepbrother (Buck)...I loved him and can not wait to get the "yeti's" book.

If you want a really good, light but extremely funny read then I highly recommend this one. Oh and I can't tell you how many times since reading this I've heard or caught myself saying beaver or beav. ;)
