Synopsis
My life had been no fairy tale. Actually, growing up, it had been something more like a nightmare, which is why I ended up so hard. When you don't want to hurt having the ability to be numb is your best defense mechanism. And for a long time all I was doing was existing.
Jag Steele, the lead singer of the international rock band Pandemic Sorrow, was the epitome of everything I despised: arrogant, entitled, but the thing I hated most about him was that he was an addict. Drugs had been the demon that had ruined everything in my life, and anyone who had a love affair with them pretty much made my stomach turn. It brought up memories I wanted to stay buried. Needless to say, I wasn't exactly a fan of Jag. Funny thing is, people aren't always who you expect them to be. Never in a million years would I have thought the night I meet Jag would have any significance on the rest of my life, but it did. I found out that sometimes something that screams utter destruction might actually be your saving grace. Some people may say our story is too screwed up to be a romance, but for two broken people, we made the pieces fit together perfectly.

My Review (ARC provided)
4-4.5 Stars!

This book was really good. I didn't realize going into it that there were two other books in the series and I generally like to read them in order even if their standalone's. I usually feel that I'm missing something even if it can be read separately. I really didn't feel this way about this book. There was only one time where I thought I missed something and it had to do with a secondary character (Rush) so it didn't bother me.
Jag (H) and Roxy's (h) relationship starts off a bit shaky and not in a conventional way. Roxy is pretty bitchy to Jag and really won't give him the time of day while her sister is obsessed with him and the band. Jag is determined to get Roxy's attention but she isn't easy to break until one night they run into each other at an unexpected place. They get to know each other and soon are really enjoying each others company.

Roxy has her guard up and because of her past experience with drug abuse in her family she doesn't want to fall for an addict. Jag is an addict but swears drugs off to be with her. Will Jag's rock star life allow him to stay clean and faithful?

I loved Roxy's attitude and could definitely understand her set back with dating someone like Jag. I really disliked Rush and then he changed in the end which was the only confusing thing to me because there was no explanation to why he changed. I'm sure you get all that in his book. I came pretty close to giving this book five stars but the last maybe fifteen percent of the book kept me from giving it the full five. I don't want to say what it was exactly but I really wish Roxy's fiery attitude came out toward the end, I felt that Jag kind of walked all over her. He left her on too many occasions wondering if he was okay. I wish she would have given him a little scare and left for a while. The rest of the book I loved. There was just enough angst and drama without it being over the top. I will be reading the first two books in the series because now I'm really curious about getting Jag's POV and want to know what changed Rush.

I recommend!

I grew up in the southern United States, and am still stuck here. The basics: I'm eccentric, I'm slightly obsessive, and I've been called a pervert. I love writing because it is nothing short of a magic trick. It pulls someone else into your mind and holds them there. Fair warning: my mind is pretty twisted, so watch out.
