Leo has made up his mind that the next time he sees Clara he's finally going to tell her his true feelings. And he's finally going to get the girl! What he doesn't realize is all it's going to take to get her and what he's going to have to prove to keep her.
It was so nice to get another glimpse of Leo, and through his eyes. Who knew his love for Clara went that far back? He was a lot sweeter than I had originally thought, he just didn't know how to handle Clara which always turned out to be an argument and then him regretting his words. I liked being able to see why he was so mean to her at times and it made me understand him more. I loved how it was almost like a nervous thing for him when he was around her...instead of stuttering or clamming up he just turned mean. This totally rich, gorgeous guy who could have anything or anyone couldn't figure out how to communicate with the one person he really wanted. I felt that was unique to his character almost like when boys are mean to girls they like. And finding out when this love/hate relationship occurred was interesting. It wasn't always that way but happened after their mothers weren't around anymore. I liked seeing their relationship grow from friends to foes to friends again and then to lovers. I love Clara's character too, so it was great to read about her again.
I would love a novella into the future a bit more just to get a glimpse of where they are now (including Dean/Robby and Maggie).
I am of fan of Sarah Darlington's work and haven't been dissappointed yet.
